Yves Camingue, 30, Full-time Designer

How would you describe the your personal style?
Urban contemporary utility infused with cultural inspirations.

What inspires you?
I am most inspired by 90s music and traveling to find quaint coffee shops alongside movies and current life situations. This season, I’ve found myself inspired by Goldfrapp’s new album “Silver Eyes” and Fakear’s “Vegetal;” the films “The Joy Luck Club”,”The Quiet American” & “The Young Victoria;” and various modern Southeast Asian collage art that I saw at the National Gallery in Singapore. My very own “90s Kid” Spotify playlist also serves as my go-to happy place.

What are your three favorite Bench items?
Striped cotton boxers, Solid-colored hipster undies and the latest Bench Heritage tees!

What are we expecting from your collection on September 10?
You will expect a new chapter in my brand. A few versatile “feminine” pieces since clientele have been clamoring for this category. My brand is defined by my outerwear pieces. They are always the key items, but I’ve explored ideas to have reinterpretations to attract a broader audience. This collection is my love letter to our country and to the world to what’s happening to it right now.

Wilson N. Limon Jr., 25, Creative Director for NIñOFRANCO

How would you describe your personal style?
My style is leaning more on etho contemporary. Where I touch base with my mindanaoan roots with a modern slant and pushing it forward.

What or who inspires you?
First of all, there’s Ben Chan. He paved the way for Filipino brands to be globally competitive without sacrificing their core identity. I also find Mindanao inspiring. The diverse culture of different ethno-linguistic groups in Mindanao should be heard and appreciated around the corners of this world. We have great stories to tell. My family also fuels my drive while Ramon Valera—the national artist for fashion design—shaped my appreciation for intricacy and attention to detail.

What are your three favorite Bench items?
Undergarments, cologne, and the basic tees.

What are we expecting from your collection on September 10?
My collection highlights the ornate beading of the Bagobo Tagabawa Tribe in Lubogan Toril District, contemporized Tnalak pattern, traditional embroidery of the Tboli’s in Lake Sebu South Cotabato and the basket weaving of the Matigsalug Tribe in Marilog Davao del Sur.

Name: Jenni Contreras, 23, Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager for DUO Magazine

How would you describe your personal style?
I’m a liberated person. I grew up with parents who are comfortable talking to me about anything ranging from sex to politics to life, etc, and i make sure that gets translated to my work. My designs are provocative without the skin, graphic-heavy, and a little whimsical.

What or who inspires you?
Music has always been important to me when coming up with a collection or an artwork. I always think that music and fashion go hand in hand. I also draw a lot of inspiration from the 80’s. There’s something so original and so bright about that era. I love Stanley Kubrick’s films. More specifically The Shining and A Clockwork Orange. I’ve always had a thing for dark films and I love how Kubrick makes dark look colorful and whimsical. I’ve always been obsessed with Anne Boleyn ever since I watched The Other Boleyn Girl. She’s unapologetic and she doesn’t play by the rules. And during that period, where men ruled, it was fun watching her mess with Henry. He kind of deserved it (haha). I’m also in love with surreal digital art and collages. You can see a little bit of that in my works.

What are your three favorite Bench items?
I bought a bunch of stuff from Bench body the other day. My favorite is the blue bralette. I also have this pair of Bench Jeans that fit me perfectly. I love how the jeans from Bench fit, good job Bench. And my trusty Bench plain black v-neck tee that i wear when i’m too lazy to dress up but i still want to look good.

What are we expecting from your collection on September 10?
Colors, renaissance paintings as angsty millennials, and a lot of sex.
