While the summer heat calls for dressing down, Sam Potenciano shows you don’t have to lose your cool. Recently, B/BLOG strolled through Makati’s Washington SyCip Park and ran into Candy Magazine’s Associate Fashion Editor, who layered a relaxed denim jacket over a silk shirt with a kicky pattern. The result is a luxe casual look that stands out when you’re lazing around the park or hitting sunset happy hour with friends. We asked the 26-year-old about what she’s wearing and where she’s headed.

Hi Sam! Where are you off to right now?

I’m trying to get a little caffeine in between simultaneously borrowing and returning clothes for different shoots.

What’s the story behind your outfit?

Both the denim jacket and shirt are BENCH! I always wear canvas sneakers and beat-up jeans when I’m running around for work, so I was really drawn to this silk button-down which is an easy piece to dress that up a little. I also threw on an oversized denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up just a little too high—kind of like Jenna Lyons did on Girls.

Any exciting summer plans?

I just came back from a trip to Taipei and had the best, craziest food. I’m thinking of a balmier country like Vietnam next. Get on that banh mi.
