The right kind of exposure in front of a camera might make a model curious enough to look behind it. At least for fine male specimens Eric Soriano and Arthur Tselishchev, photography clicked as a side career to their modeling.

After discovering their work on Instagram, B/BLOG unleashed the models-slash-lensmen on the stylish streets of Salcedo Village, Makati. Wearing BENCH clothes that impress during regular working hours and loosen up for happy hour, Eric and Arthur became one another’s sharp shooter and sharply dressed subject.

Talk about one good-looking collab: two versatile guys in flexible day-to-night outfits, with a melting pot neighborhood as their creative playground.

Hi Arthur. How did you learn to take photos?

I had a great photo shoots as a model in New York with famous photographers, designers, and stylists. They were teaching and inspiring me a lot. I bought my first camera in USA and I’ve been doing photography for three years now.

Your first significant shoot as a photographer?

In my opinion, most significant photo taken by me was in Bangkok with famous Thai top model Chanok in fancy designer dress. It was in a nice bar, but because of storm there was no electricity. So I had to use natural light and a few speed lights. But I got unexpected results and I’m really happy about that.

Most memorable shoots you’ve modeled for?

My most memorable modeling job was for Samsung in Seoul. The shooting was on beautiful mountains and it was super cold and snowy, while I was wearing only pants and a sweater. But the team of 50 people was really nice to me. The whole time, they were trying to warm me up. Another memorable shoot was here for Metro Magazine with Kathryn Bernado in a huge studio with nice decorations and antique car. I had to sing songs with her and act like we are going to a party. It was fun for us and I met a lot of great people there.

Most memorable shoots as a photographer?

My first big photography job was for a campaign for Parisian designer. I was really nervous that time. But now my photos are in the showcase of her store, in the same street with the Kenzo store. And I’m really glad that they offer me shoots every season for campaigns and lookbooks.

Any visual style you’d like to be known for?

I’m well known in my country, Ukraine, as a fashion photographer and I shoot fashion abroad too. But I think I’d love to start working with actresses, celebrities, and stars but also in a fashion way.

Hey Eric. What got you behind the camera rather than in front of it?

It all started in college. Photography was part of my course and I started liking it. After college, I got a camera, traveled, and started taking photos.

Your first significant shoot as a photographer?

I can say this feature. I never really worked with a team and did the shots how I imagined them in that moment. It’s really nice to work with cool and chill people.

Most memorable shoots you’ve modeled for?

I think the one I did for Samsung Lens way back in Hong Kong. I was a young new model traveling and I got lucky. It was all over HK at the time.

Most memorable shoots as a photographer?

Mostly all the shoots I did traveling in Cape Town. I started shooting and learning there. It’s really dangerous to walk around with a camera there.

Any visual style you’re partial to? What would you like to shoot more of?

I like shooting fashion but in a natural way. I don’t really know what you call it but I just don’t like it too posy.
