With clothes that strut fiercely between work-appropriate and party-proper, Danish brand Vero Moda has redefined the words “power play.” At the brand’s launch in SM’s Mega Fashion Hall last week, it wasn’t hard to spot the sort of women who embody both ambition and a sense of adventure. Two women who balance wifedom, work priorities, and after-hours passions: Kelly Misa and Patty Laurel.
The dynamic beauties talked to B/BLOG about dressing agelessly and their personal style picks at Vero Moda.

Style Wisdom: “Anything pastel for me is so fresh, modern, and 2014. It’s so cool and I can so imagine it for the summer. Also pastel makeup: eye shadow that’s pastel, lipstick or a blusher in a pastel tone. But of course, all worn in moderation. Not head-to-toe pastel. It’s all about a subtle elegance.”
Vero Moda Must-Buy: “Since I’m married, I can’t afford to be frivolous so I go for basics like this. Dapat yung mga forever clothes na yung binibili kasi we’re not anymore in our teens. I always think: can I wear it in five years? This shirt has a little bit of bling that dresses it up.”

Style Wisdom: “I’m 30 already but now that I’m older, it’s not that I won’t be fashionable anymore. It’s actually the opposite. Now that you’re older, you have the freedom to play around and you’ll be bolder with your choices.”
Vero Moda Must-Buy: “I like that Vero Moda’s silhouettes are very clean. You can wear it to work or in a corporate setting but it’s still very playful and nothing too contrived. I like that it’s very feminine but it’s not in-your-face girly-girly. I think this jacket is perfect for a movie date because it’s not too thick, so it works for Philippine weather. At the same time, you can layer it and wear it abroad. And I like that it’s black and white so it can match with a pair of jeans.”
